Since its establishment, Copper Country Farm Bureau has been dedicated to defending the rights and economic interests of its members.

Copper Country Farm Bureau Annual Meeting Report and Important Ag Related Links
The Copper Country Farm Bureau Annual Meeting was held on October 11, 2008, at 6:30 p.m. in the Keweenaw Bay Fire Hall with Vice President John Talsma presiding. A total of 39 people attended the meeting. New officers are John Talsma, President, Sally Narhi, Vice President, and Elaine Jahfetson, Third member. A new at large director was elected, Bonnie DeCaire-Jones of Portage Township. Carol Saari was elected to represent Houghton County on the Board, Stanley Johns, Baraga County, and John Talsma, Ontonagon County.
Judy Szyszkoski was appointed as the Promotion and Education Chair, and Dave Bahrman presented her with a Farm Bureau blanket, as he informed the group that she has been appointed to the Michigan Farm Bureau Promotion and Education Committee, with her term to begin in January.
Karen Palosaari was appointed as Young Farmer Committee Chair.
Craig Knudson, Regional Representative, informed the group that MFB again plans to support the Miracle of Life tent at the Upper Peninsula State Fair and Friday would be the day that Copper Country Farm Bureau mans the tent. A bus will be going to the Lansing Legislative Seminar, leaving from Escanaba early on the morning of February 18, 2009,and returning late that night. All that can are encouraged to participate. Washington Legislative Seminar will be held from March 11 to 13th. Each county is entitled to send two members with the Michigan Farm Bureau Core Program covering the cost. A special thank you to the Keweenaw Bay Fire Department for being able to use the facility, to Judy, Elaine and Carol for setting up and decorating the room, and to Stephanie for helping to serve.

The meetings of the board are usually held on the 4th Tuesday of the month, rotating between Bruce Crossing and Keweenaw Bay.
