Since its establishment, Monroe County Farm Bureau has been dedicated to defending the rights and economic interests of its members.

MONROE COUNTY FARM BUREAU RECOGNIZED FOR OUTSTANDING PROGRAMS

The Monroe County Farm Bureau was recognized at the 2007 Membership Banquet at the 88th Michigan Farm Bureau State Annual Meeting in Grand Rapids.  Tom Woelmer, immediate past president of the Monroe County Farm Bureau, accepted the Star Awards from MFB President Wayne Wood on behalf of the county Farm Bureau.

Thanks to the many hours of volunteer time and effort, Monroe County received Gold Star Awards in the categories of Local Affairs, Land Use, Membership, Policy Development, Promotion and Education, Political Action and State Affairs.  Monroe County was also recognized with Silver Star Awards in the categories of Community Action Groups, Commodity Marketing, National Affairs and Young Farmers.

Star Awards recognize county Farm Bureau for their hard work and creativity in promoting agriculture at the county level.  Applications are judged by Michgian Farm Bureau staff.

Farm Bureau staff, insurance agents and volunteer members are also recognized with Key Club Awards for writing five or more new regular members in a calendar year.  Receiving this award from Monroe County were William Copi, Dale Lynn Mason, Donald Sahloff, Jessica Tiller and Patrick Timiney.
