Ad Guidelines and Inserts
Mechanical Requirements
Color Separations: All color ads should be in CMYK mode, including graphics and photos that appear in the ad. Skeleton black in substitution for black is also recommended. Please convert all spot colors to CMYK.
Electronic Files (preferred): Adobe InDesign, PhotoShop, and Illustrator files are accepted (Macintosh versions). High resolution Adobe PDF files are preferred. Ads should be submitted complete and ready for output. Ads must be saved to compact disks or e-mailed and must contain all scanned images, graphics and fonts (both printer and screen). All fonts used to create EPS images must also be included. Four-color images must be CMYK. In addition, a proof should be provided to ensure correct output of ad.

Screens: 100-line screen.
Photo resolution: All photos should have a minimum of 250 dpi.
Color: Special colors use four-color process traps to simulate other PMS colors.
Advertising Rate Information
Commissions and Discounts:
A commission of 15 percent of the gross advertising space is given to recognized advertising agencies for display advertising only. No cash discounts. A frequency discount is also available at 3-time, 5-time and 10-time insertions.
Acceptance of Advertising: Michigan Farm News reserves the right to reject any advertising the publisher deems unacceptable, either because of objectionable material or inconsistency with the newspaper's general editorial and advertising policies.
Other Services
Wraps: Advertising wraps with the Michigan Farm News banner are available. The cost for a wrap is quoted per request.
Printing Services: Michigan Farm News in-house graphic design staff and full-service print shop can help design and print your inserts, brochures, or marketing literature. Graphic design and printing services quoted per request.
Inserts
Michigan Farm News can distribute inserts each issue. Inserts can be distributed full run, by county, or by demographic to target market specific areas of Michigan with your products or services.
Full Run Distribution: $55/1,000
Selected County Distribution: $69/1,000
Minimum Charge: 2,500 Subscribers
