Over the course of the last 43 years, Michigan Farm Bureau’s Young People’s Citizenship Seminar (YPCS) has helped thousands of high school juniors and seniors develop a keen understanding and appreciation for our nation’s political process. Many officials who serve in local, county and state elected positions credit YPCS for spurring their initial interest in public service.
In order to maintain this outstanding youth program, county Farm Bureaus need to recruit students to be involved in the simulated electoral process. Therefore, we urge every county Farm Bureau to redouble their efforts to recruit the best and brightest students from their county and give them an opportunity to attend the YPCS seminar, June 23-27, 2008, at Northwood University in Midland.
